This is a Custom White and Red stripe leather football helmet Researched and specified by fans from Nebraska, Stanford and University South Carolina which wore this famous eight strapper White/ RED leather football Helmet style. Many Universities wore this color combination but these are three of the most famous. The one pictured is of the Late -1940s Decade. Also , prior to the late 1930s Nebraska , Stanford and SC also wore a plain Rust Cordovan Helmet where it was the days when the jersey was the only distinguishing factor. Interestingly , all three teams also wore the Beehive helmet, flat top helmet and Dogear helmet pre -1920s styles (see these also on our site).
